That appears to be Ultrafast 1 over G.fast: it's perhaps worth noting that even when working perfectly this technology cannot deliver anything like the highest speed bands possible over the private Virgin coaxial data network.

What have you got connected to the hub? I notice a small amount of collision packets on your LAN side which could suggest a network issue causing slow page loading/timeouts

What 'TP-link'? They are a manufacturer not a product so this could be a number of things.

It might be worth you swapping the Q box to WiFi temporarily to see if you still see the problems.

Tp ling is a plug in internet which links around the electric ring main so you can have ethernet via a plug socket. You plug ethernet cable into the router the other end into the plug which you then plug into a mains socket.

I've unplugged this from the router.

@Markymate06

They are called Powerline adapters not 'TP-Links' TP-Link is a networking company that makes various products and TP-Link are not the only company who produce powerline adapters.

The reason these can cause issues is if the local wiring is not of good quality or there is a noisy appliance connected to your electrical ring then the speeds can massively drop & the latency can be in the 100s - 1000s. This will severely impact your network because your Sky Q box acts as a WiFi hotspot so it will essentially be serving you an extremely poor connection compared to what your hub could provide.

Additionally it is not recommended to use Powerline with Sky Q as the latency can often be too high. I would recommend you leave them unplugged.

That is odd. I would have expected the situation to improve and stay like with the powerline being out of the picture.

As I went to unplug the Q box I noticed that the port it was plugged into, the light was yellow no green. Anyway, unplugged and tested by page hopping again and so far it seems faster and stable, not slowing down like before.

I'm guessing this router can only work properly when only one port is being used.

I've tried using another browser and its just the same.

I use a VPN, but not sure that will make a difference?

Think it will be best to give Sky a ring and see what they have to say.

It is entirely possible the VPN is causing it

@jamesn123 Called Sky yesterday, and after testing everything agreed to replace the router. It arrived this morning, all connected and working up to speed. So far, not dropping back to slow loading so happy my problem has been resolved🤞

Thanks for all your help and advice, it's been very much appreciated
