3rd party routers need to be able to authenticate via DHCP Option 61 to work without the Sky hub in place. Many TP-Link routers dont or dont support it however there is another option which is IPv6 PD however it doesnt work on all lines.

Hello. My old ISP set up was a TP-Link system with mesh extenders around the house. Unfortunately, the ISP was pants hence changing back to Sky. I was hoping the SR203 would cover the whole house but sadly not.

Question is, can I unplug my Sky router and use the AC1200 instead? Is it just a matter of user name/password or is it more in depth?

Or, can I connect the Sky router via its WAN port to 'drive' the WAN port on the AC1200?

Thank you

thanks, so that means using the AC1200 as the modem is a non-runner.

as the wifi isn't even reaching 15 feet, I may have a duff SR203
