The reason is almost certainly an issue external to your address but specific to your broadband circuit, and so won't show up as an 'area' issue. You'll need to log a fault with Sky, but unfortunately as Openreach don't do domestic broadband support at weekends it won't be addressed until Monday at the earliest.

There was some kind of outage this morning and I woke up to no service (amber wifi/internet light). After few hours of no service, worked fine for a bit, then stopped again in early afternoon and nothing since. The internet light on my hub is off, with the power and WiFi now green. There are no apparent issues in my area at the moment according to Sky so I did all the tests more times than I can count, unplugged etc and switched box on and off multiple times and there's still no Internet light on at all. There is no apparent reason for it that I can find. Any advice most appreciated? Have to work from home over the weekend so beginning to despair..

Thank you guys, I'll log it with Sky and see what happens. Sky broadband check is telling me that it's all working, so must be my hub or local internet issue.
