topic Bowes Park Outage in Broadband

I've had no landline since the 5/1 and broadband finally gave up the ghost on the 11/1 after an intermittent service during the same period. An engineer was booked via the online troubleshooter on the 6/1, and I waited the stipulated 2–5 days for Openreach to investigate. By the 12/1 no joy, so I called Sky and was told that the work was due to completed that day. By the 13/1, no change, so I made a formal complaint. I received a call on the 14/1 and was told that there was a problem with a main cable in the Bowes Park area and over a thousand customers have been affected. The estimated time for repair is now the 17/1!

What I find strange is that there is nothing on Sky's site, nor any mention of this issue on social media. With that many people affected over such a long period, surely there would be lots of people screaming by now?

So, is there anyone in the Bowes Park area having the same issues, and what have you been told?
