Connect SKY MAX hub to TPLink Extender R450

Hello,

I have tried connecting a Sky Max Hub to a TPLINK Extender R450. For some reason the router will not connect to the extender with WPS.

I press WPS on the router and then WPS on the R450. Lights on both devices flash blu indicating that WPS is triggered in both but the router will not communicate with the extender. The extender is about 3 metres and within visual sight of the router.

I have tried adding the TPLink extender to the devices allowed on the routers settings thus.

In the Sky Router's Filter settings I have added the TPLink's MAC address. Unfortunately, I still get a connection using WPS. Any help most appreciated. The MAC addresses have been removed but can be seen the TP Link Extender's device name.
