My download speeds are reasonable but my upload speed kills my broadband and nothing can use the internet in my houseload when I try to upload files for storyline. I am fed up with this. I have to leave my home and find the nearest Starbucks to do uploads. Certainly not what I am paying for.

Apart from cancelling my contract does anyone know of a possible fix to this? All suggestions are welcomed.

Uploading large files can certainly kill your download speed if your bandwidth is limited. Which Sky broadband product do you have?

If you are uploading at your full bandwidth speed then of course everything else is going be slow/unusable because your using the full bandwidth that you pay for! Are you expecting magical extra bandwidth to appear when you want to do an upload while also stream video or whatever?

Once you saturate a broadband link by either downloading or uploading at the highest speed your line supports then other applications will become quite slow or not work at all. This is why people buy 3rd party routers that support good QoS as this helps distribute bandwidth more evenly by slowing a download/upload when other devices also want bandwidth.
