topic Reinstate Copper Phone line in Broadband

I have recently upgraded my broadband to fibre and now have a digital phone line. However I'm looking to also have my original copper phone line reinstated as my house alarm runs off this for monitoring. I wasn't aware that the copper line would be disconnected. Is this possible? I don't have a house phone as I don't use it.

Best to speak to the Alarm company about them upgrading your panel to one that works over cellular (most reputable providers would have this).

Thanks for your response. Yes the alarm company can upgrade the panel but they want over £300 to do so and then they are increasing my monthly contract. Hence the reason I was trying to have the copper line reinstated.

Openreach / BT Wholesale will not now supply a copper circuit to a domestic address which has a full fibre connection, and no ISP could place an order for such a service on your behalf.

The PSTN signal which your alarm uses is due to be switched off nationally at the end of 2025, so moving to an IP or cellular system is inevitable anyway.
