      <title>Very Slow Broadband speed</title>

It is this speed that is what you pay for, which the Sky tester cross checks. Sky will have stated an absolute bare minimum speed of this in your contract, and if you are below this, then they will book an Openreach engineer to come and check your connection. The Sky checker would pick up if you are below this speed.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The only way of getting all of this speed reliably is connecting devices via Ethernet cables, Despite whatever response you have will no doubt have to this, believe it or not, it is physics that dictate this. WiFi on the other hand, is a constant variable.&amp;nbsp;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The so called "reliable testers" you are using are no such things, they are just apps or websites on a phone, via a WiFi &amp;nbsp;connection, and all they are measuring is the WiFi performance, not the actual broadband.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;WiFi is not broadband: your contract with Sky is for broadband, not WiFi, so using WiFi 'tests' doesn't help.&amp;nbsp; To verify or dispute the Hub results, a cabled connection is required.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;As I've mentioned in these forums many times, my 500Mbs FTTP from BT 'tests' as over 400Mbs on an ethernet laptop and 40Mbs on my phone, using the same external website.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

If speed at the Hub or over ethernet cable from the Hub is below the &lt;A href="https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-fibre-speed-guarantee" target="_blank" rel="noopener"&gt;Guaranteed Minimum Download Speed&lt;/A&gt; then you should seek a solution to that.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

No one here has made anything up the responses have been based on what you have said in your posts.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;For clarity, any speed test run online will only test the throughput to the device the test is run on and if that teat is run via WiFi it can be significantly lower than the Sky test(due to that testing your line speed).&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If you take the time to post the Information that has been asked for a couple of times we may be able to offer better advice, if you don't want to post that then no further help can be offered here.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Why oh why is Sky telling me that my download &amp;amp; upload speeds are up to par when clearly they are not. Since Last week they are taking twice as long..to add insult to injury I've taken various speed tests via other reputable sites and they all appear to conflict with Sky's speed test own results. This is frustrating and i'm seriously considering moving to BT if this doesn't improve within the next several days.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;FIX THIS!!!!!!!&lt;/P&gt;</description>

The speed their test reports is the connection speed to the hub and is normally accurate.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Even if you use a fast network connection like a Gigabit ethernet cable the speedtest at the device is always going to be roughly 8% slower as there are network overheads. However WiFi speeds are affected by a number of faxtors like the layout and type of construction of your home, the level of interference, the number of devices using the connection at that time and also the WiFi standard of the hub. This is only a problem if apps are not getting the speeds required to work.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Same here even after engineer came out checked the line and no issues found from the BT side of things so I am assuming it is just that Sky broadband is crap, as soon as contract is up it's virgin media for me&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
