I just did some more searching of the forums - it seems the TD-W9970 was the recommended choice, is this still the case?

Hi guys,

I have bought an Asus RT AX-88U Pro to replace the sky hub, I am currently on a superfast plan with FTTC but will be moving in June to a home with FTTP and plan on upgrading accordingly.
As I am currently on FTTC and getting my access through VDSL2 I need to buy a modem or equivalent in order to completely remove the hub from my network as, unless I am mistaken, the hub doesnt allow modem mode. What would people recommend? Preferably as cheap as possible without sacrificing connection speed since it is only going to be used for 6 months or so.
