I've recently moved to sky and find it absolutely appalling keeps freezing and flickering on and of till it completely comes off the screen

Which Sky TV Service do you have?

Sky Q (Satellite box)
Sky Glass (Internet TV)
Sky Stream (Internet box)

Sky Glass or Sky Stream will only work reliably if you have a good local 'internet' network.

From what you say your broadband does not seem to be working well either.
It may be worth looking to get your broadband fixed first. If Sky, it would be best to post your current broadband issues in the broadband section of this community. If not Sky for your broadband, you will need to speak with your broadband ISP to get them to check why your broadband is not working well.

Best way to test for how well your Sky Stream is doing on your local 'internet' network is via a network speed test on your Puck.
Launch Netflix on your pucks (you do not need to be logged into it, if you do not use netflix) and scroll down the left menu to Get help.
Choose Check Network.
Would suggest running the test a few times, over say a half hour period during tests.
What is your speed for each puck?

The internet is fine in the area it's sky and the stream are rubbish
