Had the sky puck active a few weeks and constantly freezing and poor connection, have the WiFi booster and that's fine, phones work in the area with no problem. The puck however keeps having problems. Really frustrated now.

If your phones and booster are solid but the Sky Puck keeps freezing, that usually points to one of three things: (1) the puck’s Wi‑Fi behaviour, (2) the puck’s software, or (3) a fault with the device itself.

The Sky Puck is notoriously sensitive to Wi‑Fi conditions, even when the rest of the home network works perfectly. One of the most effective fixes is to force it onto the 5GHz band only, as the puck often performs poorly on 2.4GHz; it also helps to keep it about a metre away from the Wi‑Fi booster to avoid interference from being too close. It’s also worth checking for software issues, because the puck can freeze if it’s stuck on an outdated firmware version. Go into Settings → System Management → Software Update, and then doing a full restart often stabilises things. Overheating is another common culprit, especially if the puck is inside a cabinet or stacked on other warm devices, so giving it open space and ventilation can prevent thermal throttling. Finally, if none of these steps improves the connection, there’s a strong chance the puck itself is faulty; Sky has had a run of unstable units with problematic Wi‑Fi chips, and in those cases a replacement puck is usually the only reliable fix.

Hope that helps.
