SKY Stream / STV Player & Premier Sport

I joined SKY February 2025 with my contract offer expiring during February 2027. Included in my package is SKY Ultimate TV. All through the 25/26 football season I could access Premier Sports via STV Player. I had not tried to access Premier Sports since the season ended until earlier this week and found that Premier SPorts is not available via STV Player unless I sign up to a monthly payment. Similarly, I find that SKY now have a Premier Sports app that I can sign up to for a monthly payment.

I do not understand the following: -

a) as this was included in my contract under Sky Ultimate TV why I have not received any communication of any changes to its inclusion?

b) did STV decide that they wanted to change access to allow them to generate an income stream and did they advise SKY of this change - prsume SKy may have been paying STV to allow access before?

c) when did SKY introduce a Premier Sports app.

d) it now looks like I will have to sign up to one of the apps - which one is best?

Can anyone let me know when this change was made and what my position is as something has been taken away from my package without any communication. Can Community members throw any light on this situation, your comments will be most welcome.

Premier Sports has never been part of the Ultimate TV pack, it has always been an additional subscription service available via the Premier Sport app.

What I suspect has happened is that you used the free trial of STV Player +, which at some point last year was available as a perk via the Sky VIP Rewards, and Premier Sports is included as part of the STV Player + subscription service.

Sky don't own Premier Sports or STV.

It's still £17.99pm or £130 annual plan on STV Player , it's a separate tier

So quite how they had access i don't know

Many thanks for your reply. What you say makes sense. I know that Sky don't own Premier Sports or STV Player but I was told by the shop sales team that was how I could access it. Guess that SKY had some sort of systems fix that made that possible.
