Remote not working, stuck at Voice Guidance screen

Sky puck froze earlier and remote didnt respond so did full factory reset on it. Im now at setup and cannot get by the 'Would you like to turn on voice guidance' screen as remote will not respond. Problem may have been remote all along. I tried restarting and holding 1 and 3 buttons on remote but it still doesnt pair. Batteries are new in remote. Tried leaving batteries out and pressing to dispel remaining power but still no joy. Any help gratefully received

Slight update I got past it by installing Sky Remote on my phone. However I cannot get the remote to connect at all, even by pressing 7,9 4,6 and 1,3 . I went into settings/connected devices and it said it was connected but it isnt working at all.

Third update: Left batteries out of remote for 24h. Restarted Sky Puck today and hey presto it works again. This might help someone else with the same issue.
