The fire stick has local storage where the apps are installed in and the storage will be used to buffering. The sky stream pucks work completely differently, the apps aren't installed locally on them and are run remotely from Sky's servers, and also the internal storage capacity is so much smaller so there won't be nearly as much buffering capabilities, which is the reason that a strong and stable internet connection is key for the Sky streaming platform ( and why in a lot of cases ethernet proves to be better because it gurantees that stable connection).

I've just installed a puck in my living room and tried to install one in my bedroom, the 2nd one wouldn't install, tried all the steps to re boot and even got it replaced, but still have the same problem, stuck on updating software, I don't have Ethernet cable and my internet speed is 77.06Mbps, the first one is up and running so do know why 2nd one won't install, I've tried putting it in the living room, I've spent a lot of time on what seems a useless

Hi I got an Ethernet cable and 2nd puck is now working using this, but I had to change round my living room so cable reaches WiFi hub, I though the whole point of getting stream was so it can be used anywhere, is this not an activation issue, seems like lots of people have the same problem, I'm now happy that I have two pucks working, but annoying I have to have one plugged into a Ethernet cable restricting where I have my tv set up,

The stream pucks require a strong and stable internet connection to function correctly, and there are numerous factors which will cause network interference with Wifi networks which means that you won't necessarily get a strong and stable connection in every single location in your property at all times.
