Sky stream black screen every 30 seconds

My sky stream is unusable. Every time we try to watch anything we get a black screen every 30 seconds. Shows jump to the end, and apps don't load.

the device is two months old and never been damaged

Sky Stream pucks rely entirely on you providing a fast and stable enough broadband network. Without this, it simply will not function with any sort of reliability. Have you checked the speed your puck is receiving? To do this, open the Netflix app, navigate to the get help menu and run a network check.
