Hi,

I have Fibre 500 broadband, a gen1 Glass tv and 2 x pucks. Just ordered a Gen2 Glasstv.

I've had a lot of issues recently with basic terrestrial channels, freezing, not fast forwarding, going back to beginning or just chucking me out with on screen apologies.

Sky say my broadband speed is approx 512, when I run the speed test on Netflix it says 89.

Can anyone explain this coherently to a non tech person?

I have to say I'm getting little or no issues with mainstream apps, Disney, Apple, Netflix, Prime or Sky, all the issues relate to BBC, ITV, Channel4 &5, which unfortunately my Wife watches a lot of and makes my life a misery complaining about SKY, Glass, Streaming , Broadband etc.

She wants me to Chuck it all out and go back to Sky Q with a record feature that seemed to mostly work.

Help me fight this cause please, I don't want to go backwards.

Sky reports speed arriving at the Hub over optical fibre and ethernet cable, not WiFi from it.

89Mbs is entirely plausible on WiFi and should be more than necessary for a Glass television or Stream puck.

Note that you'd also only see a maximum of 100Mbs over ethernet because Glass has a 100-BaseT ethernet chipset.
