If I downgrade from Q to Stream - Can I still view TV live on my laptop/tablet using GO and also can I record programs to view later on the device using GO ?

I understand that there is the ability to record to the cloud on the Stream box - how does this work ?

How about recording to USB stick from the stream box ?

You cannot attach a USB flash drive to record onto either. This is simply not how Sky Stream, and indeed most other streaming services work.

SkyOS uses the 'playlist' function which tags progammes you want to watch later on demand. Some content will 'cloud record' or rather, tag a stored section of a live stream for you to view later. It's not like a recording on a hard drive though, it's just a file on a server which Sky can remove at any point, depending on streaming rights. You don't have a planner like Sky Q, so you can't 'delete' cloud recordings, you just remove them from your playlist. They remain on the server for others who have playlisted them to view.

as @Angel_Aka has mentioned you cant traditionally record on Sky stream but you can add programmes and series to your playlist for you to wtach later. I wouldnt class it as a "downgrade" as Sky stream is the way forward now.

How about recording to USB stick from the stream box ?

Given there's no USB port on a Stream puck, that would be tricky ; )

Not that Sky would ever have permitted it...

(and yes, while some television operating systems facilitate USB recording of free-to-air content arriving over a built-in digital terrestrial television tuner, they don't do so for HDMI sources)
