Hi, my UHD picture goes dark after a few mins. If I change channel and go back it's light again and back to the right picture. How do I fix to stop UHD going dark

Hi @Lyle+r

There is a setting for HDR picture mode and Dolby vision mode to be bright or dark. I can't remember if these are on the puck (and not in front of one to check) but worth checking it out. However it could also be a setting on your TV, it might be worth posting the make and model incase anyone else on the community has experienced the same issue.

MikeAlanR

It will be down to your tv settings. Post the make and model number of your tv and someone may be able to help @Lyle+r

I have a Samung S95D, I did have the SKY Q box which worked well. I then switched to Sky Glass and got a puck for the Samsung TV. It took a bit of tinkerring to get the SDR picture to where I wanted it but struggled with the UHD channels. Everytime I chnaged from a regular HD channel to UHD, the screen would dim down. I checked the puck settings, not much help there, went to the TV settings and tried adjusting various settings. In the end, it was as simple as adjusting the contrast to hihgh from Auto. It's still not brillinat but way better than before.

Hope this helps someone.

All of Sky's UHD HDR content will be in the HLG format too.

If you subscribe to higher 4K tiers of Prime Video, Disney+, Apple TV and Netflix then you may want to use the apps on the TV instead of the Stream puck because the puck cannot output the superior adaptive HDR format HDR10+ which your TVs apps will support.

I have a Samung TV and UHD content with HDR10+ does produce some astonishingly good images, bright, punchy and far from dark.
