@Lizzee

Sky Stream is different to most other streaming devices in that all the apps are stored on Sky's servers, not on the puck itself, so can be more prone to buffering if your network connection isn't fast and rock solid.

If you're connected to a congested server then it can slow things down more so it's good to fully reboot your puck every so often to re-engage a server connection. This can flush the cache and make apps run a bit better.

It's also good practise to make sure that you fully exit each app when you are done watching something on it. Don't just press the home button on the remote to take you back to the SkyOS home page, keep pressing the back button or select exit from the settings on the particular app (it varies between each one) to fully close the app. Leaving too many open in the background on the server can lead to the sluggishness you are experiencing.

If all else fails, use the apps on your smart TV or on a dedicated streaming device with local storage and a faster cache, and only use the Stream puck for live TV.

All apps struggle buffer and then become stuck meaning we cannot watch. We have only had sky for 5 weeks and beginning to think it was the worst move.

anyone got any top tips to stop it buffering all the time. Isn't just one app it's them all.

If all apps are doing the same the most likely cause is a slow or unstable connection from router to puck.

Open the Netflix app, navigate to the network check and report what speed you are getting.

What speed is your ISP contract?

Do you have a lot of devices in the home, especially avid gamers?

Normally with Sky Stream and Sky Glass, it's the live linear channels that are more prone to buffer and freeze, rather than the apps.

Do your live linear channels do the same, or are they playing out reliably?

Still, as above,

Can you do a network speed test on your puck.
Launch Netflix on your pucks (you do not need to be logged into it, if you do not use netflix) and scroll down the left menu to Get help.
Choose Check Network.
Would suggest running the test a few times, say a few minutes between tests.
What is your speed?
