One last thing I think might be a problem. Sky Stream like a stable Internet connection.

On your mobile phone or laptop do an Internet speed test and see how much your speeds fluctuate.

It's all very well pulling big speeds, but if your speeds fluctuate wildly it will affect your stream device.

I was with VM and my top speeds were 500mbps but the connection fluctuated so wildly, even as low 30mbps.

I moved to Sky broadband and only get 75mbps but when doing a speed test my speeds are constant at 72-75mbps.

Hi,

My sky stream has puck is continuously buffering and just generally very slow. So I ran a speed test through Netflix on both my puck and my smart tv app. The puck returns a speed of 2.86mbps but my tv app returns a speed of 116mbps. The puck and tv are next to each other and both connected to the same WiFi.

Anybody else having this issue?

Thanks

Does sound like your puck is suffering from some local interference.

Firstly, do a settings restart of your Sky Stream puck, then do a broadband/hub restart with the puck in standby.

Try the Netflix speed test again on the puck.

Would suspect it may be suffering from interference, the puck much like a Sky Q box can for some customers suffer from this at times. More often seen as an intermittent blip.

Not always a cure, but the following may help to resolve;
Make sure you have a good 6-8 inches free on all sides of the puck.
Do not stack the puck on top of any other device.
Best not to sit it on a glass shelf. Wood is generally the best.
Make sure the puck is in the open, not tucked away in a cabinet or sat directly behind the TV.
Make sure you have no other devices that can cause interference closeby, like cordless phones, radiators, baby monitors, smart meter in home displays, microwaves and the like.

Plus, change both your pucks to following recommended settings set in Settings>
Set Network standby mode to ON.
Turn wifi OFF under Network if ever connected via ethernet.

This is very poor from sky. If my tv can return a speed of 100+mbs then why is the sky puck performing so badly. They are literally next to each other with nothing in the way to the sky hub router.

The pucks aren't particularly well shielded against other potential sources of interference. If you can, connect to your router with an ethernet cable and turn WiFi off on the puck.

So what's the point. It's supposed to be Wi-Fi. I don't want or should need to use a Ethernet cable. I've had a firestick for years and never experienced this problem and that is a much smaller device. Very poor design from sky

Assume you have not tried any of the advice.

When positioning or reducing any local interference is made, for customers having such issues it can help the puck perform well with wifi.

More here on a similar basis is also here in this Sky help article.

If none of the works, click on I still need help and you can work with Sky for further troubleshooting;
