There were some indications that the newer generation of pucks (with the smaller power adapter) had better thermal control and some people have had better viewing experiences on live UHD sport channels with them.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Sky have never published any information on improvements or changes to the puck hardware other than that the latter ones have components from different suppliers, so you can take this with a pinch of salt.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;It might be worth trying to get your puck swapped. There's no way of requesting the newer pucks though - they are not listed on Sky's systems as a different model so it's pot luck whether you get one or not.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;Probably a symptom rather than a cause: heat is a byproduct of chips having to work harder.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
