Would suggest first trying a restart of your Sky Stream box
Go to Settings>Systems Management>Resets & Updates
Select Restart device
Your Sky Stream puck will perform a reboot. It will take a few minutes to complete.

Can you do a network speed test on your Puck.
Launch Netflix on your puck (you do not need to be logged into it, if you do not use netflix) and scroll down the left menu to Get help.
Choose Check Network.
Would suggest running the test a few times, say over a half hour period.
What is your speed?

The puck lights on so it's working and we can get the all channel screen, but when we go onto the channel we want it is either just a blue screen or says programme loading. We did have a short power cut earlier

Worth unplugging the Puck leave 5 minutes and reboot it should clear software glitches. Check your router too may also be worth rebooting.

Once your puck is active check the WiFi signal in settings if it is weak hard wiring will help.
