My Sky Q has been playing up a bit recently with the weather. Although the weather is not as poor as we have had previously, the affect on our service is significant now. Maybe our dish has been knocked by a recent roof felt replacement that we had but I'm not altogether sure about that.

Anyway, I thought I'd give Stream a go. I have 900Mbps bidirectional broadband so felt that I should be immune to the buffering that some people have experienced. I went on the app and tried to get a price, but nothing other than Glass was available. I tried again on my laptop and got the same result. Stream not available as I'm already enjoying the best deal on Q.

I visited our local Sky Shop and asked them to look. They had a deal of £49 on offer not including Multi-room and maybe not Ultimate Netflix. I am currently paying £85.99 p/m. I thought I out to be able to transition for a similar price only to be told that the new price would be North of £100 p/m. However, if I took up Glass, I could have it for £80 p/m. I politely declined.

I'm really not happy. Q isn't working well for me anymore, and spends too many hours with no signal. I was happy to transition to Stream, but Sky want a premium to do that, unless I buy Glass of course. According to the Sales Colleague in store I am out of contract next April. That'll be the time to say goodbye I think. Over £1000 p/a on a TV service should bring a better service than I've received.

Rant over....

Same here. Upgraded from Q to Streaming before realising most of what I watch these days I can get via my TV and usually in better quality. Stuck in a contract now but will definitely be an ex customer next time round. They have had money off me for 30 years and it's time to draw a lne under affair.

Well Timmy, regarding the dish being the issue, I don't disagree. I was looking for a more permanent solution to the problem. However, due to Comcast not being happy with my quite considerable contribution to their overall global profits, I will book an engineer (at their cost) to sort it out and will then cancel in April. They may not miss me, but I won't lose sleep over that

@Roland

We have found on this community that if you are current Sky Q customer, afraid the only way to go with Sky Stream only is to call Sky.

The offering of Sky Stream only, for some existing Sky Q customers being not available to order onine, whereas you can order Sky Glass TX and a stream puck together online is available to order, as you have found.

Give Sky a call.

You can call on 150 from a Sky Talk Line or Sky Mobile.
If you haven't got a current Sky Mobile or Sky Talk this link should help:
https://www.sky.com/help/home
Scroll down and click on ‘Need more help’ and it provides a 0333 number.
(ROI) on the same link change the flag in the very bottom corner to the ROI flag to obtain an 0818 number.

Stay on the line and don’t hang up if prompted to. Some of the quieter times to ring are early morning or late evening.

This meant I didn't have to deal with their customer service team who don't necessarily understand what you are trying to achieve. They were more than happy to move us over to Stream but at an additional cost of £17 for the comparable service. I'm just not prepared to pay that.

I'll book a service call to sort out the dish and will cancel in April. I'll spend 18 - 24 months with Virgin or EE on a new customer price and then come back to Sky on a new customer deal then. Sky's current business model regards transition to Stream doesn't meet with my requirements, so I'll take my £1000 pa elsewhere 😊
