Thanks,

My broadband is Sky, I've added a Deco mesh system to it that that handles the dhcp. WiFi is turned off on the Sky Router. The Deco has been assigned a fixed ip address from the sky router and a DMZ. I'll look for power saving settings on the Deco. The error hasn't reoccurred since I connected the sky puck directly to the Deco but that was only last night. I also assigned a fixed ip address to the sky puck. So fingers crossed.

I've just installed a Sky Stream puck, initially the puck wouldn't activate and after about a week I got a replacement this activated and is much more stable. I'm now getting occasionally a error screen indicating no WiFi even though I'm connected via Ethernet. This was through a switch though and I have now connected directly to a router. So I'll see how that goes. I also use an Apple TV and now I'm wondering if I would be better cancelling and just going via Now for sports and dip into entertainment whenever there is something worth watching

Any thoughts on this?

Apologies also forgot to mention the HDMI control is rather flakey which is the biggest concern as it becomes an issue for other members of the household. Is this a known issue on the puck?

@KevinNI I've been getting the same on my own Sky Stream puck (connected via Ethernet, WiFi disabled on the puck). I've recently changed broadband providers from Sky to EE. I suspect that when the puck goes into standby, my broadband hub is also putting the connected Ethernet port to sleep as well.

When I bring the puck out of standby, it has 10 or so seconds of saying 'no WiFi connection' before the Ethernet connection wakes up and I see the Sky Stream Home Screen on my TV. My PS5, also connected via Ethernet, occasionally has a similar issue when brought out of standby. Currently trying to see if it is possible to disable sleep/low power modes on the hub's Ethernet ports.

Who is your broadband with and what router/hub are you using?

I've had no such issues with Apple's hardware.

Sky Stream can work well for many people but it depends how long you're willing to persevere to get it to a point that works for you. If you want to have live channel streams and an EPG then it's worth sticking with, but if you just want to stream the odd Sky show here and there and have Sky Sports then NOW can give you exactly that.

There are options for all, and for that we must be thankful to Sky.

Have you made the following changes, that we recommend?

Change both your pucks to following recommended settings set in Settings>
Turn wifi OFF under Network if connected via ethernet.
Set Network standby mode to ON and Overnight power saving to OFF.

Once you have made the changes above, make sure you do a Puck settings restart, as below.
This will ensure the option changes are set correctly.

Go to Settings>Systems Management>Resets & Updates
Select Restart device
Your Sky Stream puck will perform a reboot. It will take a few minutes to complete
