CHANGE OF LANGUAGE FROM DEUTSCH TO ENHLISH

After recently receiving my Sky stream box, I am unable to Change to the Language setting to Englisch from Deutsch. Any help?

All Stream boxes in the UK will be in English

Try the following:

Turn on Stream, press the home button, scroll to the very bottom to settings (about 13 presses on the down button/wheel), press the centre button. Scroll 2 clicks to the right and one click down to viewing preferences (an eye icon), press the centre button. Press down once, pop-up menu should open to the right, English should be the top one.

This didnt work for me, it only ensures subtitles are in English. I'm trying to get to watch the programs in English, if I can't change the entire language settings of the system to English.

I just moved to Germany and just got the Sky Streamer Box. Everything is currently in Deutsch.

Sky UK don't provide a streaming service to Germany. I suspect you'll have to sign up afresh with Sky Deutschland.

@Gbogzy You need to contact Sky Germany sky.de as this is a community for Sky UK & Ireland and are unable to help with queries from Germany.

Did you obtain your Sky Stream box from Sky GermanY?

However to answer your post as your service is a german service then all channels & subtiles etc will be in German (with the exception of Sky News Intenational CNN Europe and BBC News) as that is the official language of that country.

Thanks for your help. I bought the Sky.de service (not UK) and didnt know that this community is solely for Sky UK (thought it was a general community). Apologies for the mixup.

I tried contacting customer service but was neither convinced with their response on changing the language (which didnt work) nor on if the Premier League matches will be in English. Well, here goes language classes (wish me luck)...

Sky Stream in Germany is, unsurprisingly, a German product. However, it's not going to be a Sky product for much longer.

Thanks @TimmyBGood, though I'm kinda indifferent about this as I am not sure if this acquisition will change anything about the mandated German language.

Will probably cancel this subscription and return the device.

If anything, more German, because RTL Group , unlike Sky Group, isn't owned by a US corporation.

'Mandated' isn't really the appropriate word, though, any more than English is 'mandated' for UK broadcasters: it's simply to be expected.

Why would it? German is the national language of that country, so you'd expect a a citizen of that country to receive the channels in their mother tongue, this is no different to any other foreign country, expecting English TV in such countries is not a reasonable expectation I'm afraid.

Your choice is going to be limited in terms of TV watching unless you learn german.
