I am currently a sky Q customer , I have 3 Sky Q mini boxes in various rooms but in one I cannot hide the box easily - The simple solution seems to be get a Sky Stream Puck, however that doesn't seem available to me online as an existing Sky Q customer - is there a reason that I cannot use my full package (Cinema, Netflix, Sports etc) across both platforms ?

You can't mixed the streaming platform with the satellite based platform as there are differences between the two. Not only are the way the platforms operate and mare delivered diffferent the list of available channels and TV packs offered on the services differ as well.

Sky allow you to have the satellite platform or the streaming platform at an address they can't be mixed, any order for Sky stream will lead to Sky having to cancel Sky Q at that address.

Thank you - that is what I suspected but I had assumed that Sky Glass too was a different platform to Sky Q - Apparently that is a possible combination.

Is Sky Glass not simply a TV with and embedded Sky Stream OS ?

Thanks

Really usful thank you - as a Sky Q Customer, online I am prevented from purchasing Stream - because of the limitations outlined in the reponses. But I am NOT prevented from purchasing Sky Glass - or warned that it will cance my Sky Q subscription - hence my confusion

thanks all

You should try Apple TV 4th generation with the TV launcher app. It uses your SkyGo login to allow you to stream films; you can load Netflix, Disney, Paramount+ and other applications without the need to pay for a SkyQ mini box.

That is correct originally the puck was only available to Sky glass subscribers so they could have the streaming service on an excisting tv. Then Sky decided to make them. available to subscribers without having to get a Sky glass tv. That when the Sky stream service started.

Stream pucks launched alongside Glass television sets in October 2021. Stream became a product by itself exactly one year later: this was presumably always the plan rather than an afterthought. Realistically a product as profoundly average as the Gen 1 Glass was never going to dominate the television marketplace, and Sky wasn't going to be without a box to attach to other brand sets.
