Sky streaming puck keeps freezing

Every time I go through the TV guide icon list (pick of the week,) or watch any sport channels plus streaming apps such as YouTube it freezes.. I only here the sound. I have to reboot and it will happen again and again. I've not been to watch anything. My broadband is over 200mb plus upload speed 25mb and it's in the same room as the puck.

Try a speed test via Stream's Netflix app (try several times). That will give you a more accurate speed the puck is receiving.

I'm now certain that it's an overheating issue. This is my third replacement and every one has overheated excessively

From the little we know about the newer v2 Stream puck, changes have allegedly been made to the thermal control which seems to help prevent such issues.

AFAIK there is no way to ask for a v2 specifically as all pucks are logged the same on Sky's system and they obviously don't want an avalanche of customers asking to replace their v1 with a v2 just because it's newer.

There's nothing to suggest the v1 pucks are dangerous in any way when it comes to over-heating, they just tend to shut down when they get too hot, something which not every customer experiences.

Apart from the thermal control, the v2 also has a slimmer, flatter power supply apparently.
