I find that when I enable IPV6 on my router the sky stream puck eventually loses connection. It is connected to the router but has no internet connection. My other devices do have.

If i enable only IPV4 this resolves the issue.

Is this an issue with the strem pucks? I thought they were enabling IPV6 on the pucks.

I would like to use IPV6 but find the pucks stop me from doing this

Router is a TPlink AXE75 connected to SKY FTTP 1gb internet.

Make sure you haven't switched off IPv4 in the router options. My ISP has has enabled IPv6 as well and when I tested the pucks were still connected @ian2512

Hi @ian2512

The Sky Stream pucks do now support IPv6 in a dual-stack environment, but they still need working IPv4 connectivity for correct operation.

i.e., they will not work in a pure IPv6-only environment.

They may work in an IPv6-mostly environment, alongside NAT64 and DNS64, but that hasn't been validated yet.

Thanks for the reply. This unfourtunatley isnt the answer as the router uses IPV4 and IPV6 i belive as the router also has an IPV4 address i may be wrong. However disabling the IPV6 sorts the issue.

Previous ASUS router would connect IPV6 and have no issues what so ever puck connection wise, got rid however as used to crash regularly.

This new tplink axe75 has been rock solid.

It is just annoying when I enable IPV6 the sky pucks throw a wobbly and wont play ball. They initially work fine then disconnect and wont reconnect to the internet at all, wireless or ethernet

I have tried a different DNS ect no joy.

I think it may be a router firmware issue compatability with IPV6 and the SKY stream pucks or a puck issue.

I'd set my network up with IPv6 unique local addresses (in addition to link local) so I could learn about IPv6 networking, subnets and vlans and had no problem at all with my sky stream boxes. My ISP has just switched on IPv6 and I now have global unicast addresses as well, so the sky stream boxes can reach the outside world via IPv6 and they have started locking up and losing connectivity just as you said. Having read this I've resolved it by moving them onto an IPv4 only vlan, but it seems ridiculous that this hasn't been fixed yet!
