Sky remote no longer controls TV volume

I have had to reset my Sky Stream puck form scratch. All works well except that the reote will no longer control my TV volume - whic worked fine before reset the puck.

I have been through the process of trying to get this to work.

First, I asked it to find my TV and it immediately told me it was no longer supported (though it worked a few hours ago!)

Second I entered the TV model nuber - its a Panasonic - TH-42PZ80BA.

I've tried entering (with and without the hyphen) but in eitherr case there is no Coninue or Enter button once I've typed in the model number.

Can anyone help?

@what happens when you let the puck try different tv options ? Does this still not work ?

As above, rather than use a specific model, just select Panasonic and 'find it for Me' trying several of the codes.

Sometimes, we have seen with some TVs, it can take trying about 20 different codes to get the right one to work.

When I use find it for me?, I'm just instantly told my tv is no longer supported.

You do not enter codes.

Just choose your TV model from the list, like Panasonic, try the first one it offers and then if that does work,, go to the next offering until one works.

It is not always the first one it offers.

when you refer to a model of TV do you just been a brand? I see no list of specific models.

Yes, brand/manufacturer like Panasonic, Hisense, Philips, Samsung, Sony etc.

I can't remember the exact wording but when in the tv code settings you need to choose the option that you don't know the model - it should then start trying all of the Panasonic codes one by one while asking you to turn the volume up and down to test .

Just doing a search on here and may help you.

Seems that some Panasonic TVs are made by Vestel and some customers taht had issues with remote control setup with a Sky box, have selected Vestel as the manufacturer rather than Panasonic and the first or second try often worked, but some found they had to try a few more of the offerings than the first two offered.

I have had the same sort of issue, only 1 out of 2 of my remotes now work when they were fine about an hour before. The power works and I have paired them again and it says they are paired but then the only thing that works is the on/off button. I am now down to 1 remote between 2 sky pucks, its very annoying and as they are probably out of warranty it will be down to me to fork out for a new one.

Hi All,

I'm having this very same issue, well, my elderly Mother is. She struggles with the Sky Stream interface as it is and I'd just taught her how to use the voice function. That had stopped working so I re-paired the remote control and now it doesn't work barely anything when it did everything before. Doesn't work the volume, voice control and not even the numbers to get a TV channel by pressing number one for BBC1 for example.

I too tried to find the TV (a Toshiba) and it couldn't find anything despite me entering the model number....no "enter" button to search for it or anything.

Is this some big software update that's messing everything up?

I've got my Mothers working again.... for now.

I simply unplugged the puck, took a battery out of the remote control and went through the pairing process again and bingo.

Let's see if it lasts.
