topic Clarification and Support Regarding Access to TNT Sports via Discovery+ in Sky Stream

Hi,

I recently had a live chat with a Sky customer service representative regarding a concern I have with my subscription. I signed up for a 24-month deal primarily because it included Eurosport, which I rely on heavily for cycling coverage. However, Eurosport has since moved under the TNT Sports banner, which I’m currently unable to access.

During the chat, the representative assured me that my package includes Discovery+, which in turn provides access to TNT Sports. Based on this, I attempted to access TNT Sports via the Discovery+ app, but it continues to prompt me to subscribe separately—contrary to what I was told.

Could someone please clarify:

Whether TNT Sports is indeed included in my current Sky package via Discovery+?

If not, was I misinformed by the representative?

Given that the programming I signed up for has fundamentally changed, am I within my rights to cancel the contract early without penalty?

At present, I’m not receiving the content that was a key factor in renewing my subscription. Any guidance or similar experiences from others would be appreciated.

Your Sky Stream subscription only includes Discovery+ Basic with ads and no sports.

You used to be able to access Eurosport via the Discovery+ app but not anymore since Discovery closed Eurosport down in the UK.

To get the sport now, you need to either subscribe to TNT Sports via Sky or direct to Discovery+ Premium including TNT Sports directly through the Discovery+ app.

@PaulA108 I'm not sure if you are aware but Eurosport no longer exists as a stand alone channel in the UK and is incorprorated into TNT 1,2,3.&4. It is part of the greater Discovery organisation and set up correctly all TNT channels and Discovery+ should all be accessible.
Edit. I was typing my reply when @Nigelb1972 post came in which is saying similar.

If you have EE mobile or BT broadband you can get access to discovery plus premium for £20 a month, rather than the £31 with Sky. However you will only have access via the app on stream not the linear channels on EPG. The higher tier EE mobile plans include Discovery plus as an inclusive app.

if I can't get it within my current package, then the Sky customer service representive got it wrong and misinformed me. Given this was a core part of the reason to purchase my Sky contract, and it's since changed during the contract, I assume i'll be able to terminate my Sky contract ?

@PaulA108 wrote:

if I can't get it within my current package, then the Sky customer service representive got it wrong and misinformed me. The closure of Eurosport was only publically announced by WDB at the end of January ( with it taking affect at the end of February) so therefore if you took out the contract prior to the closure announcement by WDB then the sky rep was correct that Eurosport was part of the package.

Whether you are able to terminate, you would have to ask Sky and see if they are willing to accomodate your request however the T&Cs of the service do state that channel line-ups can change and as the decision was made of a third party and it wasn't a channel closure decision made they Sky it possible they may reject the basic of early termination as the situation was outside their control.
