Hi. I am based in the Uk.
I tried resetting the router, but only turned it off for about 10 seconds. So I'll try longer, thanks.

otherwise I guess a call to Sky is next. Sigh

It maybe a better idea to call your ISP rather than sky . It seems likely your ISP is using IP addresses that are not geo located in the UK

you need to turn your router off for longer than a few seconds to make it pick up a different IP address

As mentioned above, leaving a router off for at least 30 minutes, will often reset your IP address.

You can just type 'what's my ip' into a browser search engine.

It will show a location or map, sometimes near to your location, but it sometimes can be anywhere in the UK.

Who is your broadband with?

Thanks everyone. Just spent an hour on the phone to Sky- looks like I need a new router/ IP address. They are sorting.

thanks for the helpful tips and prompt responses though
