Sky Remote & TV Controls

Hi, my sky remote used to turn the TV on and off, however I've forced a manual update for Sky and it's made me reset certain settings. I've paired the remote by Bluetooth but now I can't get the remote to turn the TV on and off liked it used to. Even when trying in the settings, it won't recognise my TV at all.

I have a Sony soundbar connected and the remote can control the volume for that by default (without even pairing the remote), but when that's unplugged and I try and get the sky remote to control my TV, it refuses.

Am I missing something? Thanks

Hi @Thevoid, what do you mean you forced a manual update?

Have you tried restating Sky Stream and then try to find your TV model again?

Also is HDMI Control enabled in settings?

I held the power button down on the box and plugged it in which forces a system update.

I've got HDMI turned on in the settings and tried restarting and linking the remote to my TV again but no luck. Sky can't find my TV.

First repower your TV.

On your Sky puck remote:

Press and hold 7 and 9 together for 3 seconds.
Press and hold 1 and 3 together for 3 seconds.
Wait until you see the 'Your remote is now connected' message and select Continue.

Follow the on screen instructions to connect your TV.

Unless you were instructed by Sky to do that, I wouldn't advise doing things like that in future.

Try the advice from Lettice and hopefully you can get it working. If not,try going through similar Sony TVs because one of those might work even if your specific model isn't listed.

That's what I've said isn't working though. Sky can't find my tv

I don't understand how it used to work and had previously found the TV, but now can't though.
