Re using existing Sky Stream pucks on new subscriptions

My broadband and TV services with Sky are coming to an end and I'm just trying to work out the best option for me.

I've called retentions and the cheapest they can offer for gigabit broadband and Sky Ultimate TV (plus whole home) was £109/month which is a little too pricey for my liking.

Whilst I have equivalent offers from Virgin and EE (that work out to approx £70/month) I was also thinking of pricing up Sky Stream + another broadband provider such as Truespeed. I already have 3 Sky Stream pucks - if I sign up to Sky Stream as a new customer with the Whole Home add on can I re-use the pucks I already have? Or will I need to fork out another £80 to get the 2 additional pucks?

I've read about some pucks being loaned and some being owned depending on when they were acquired. It looks like we ordered Sky initially in September 2023 so I'm not sure where that puts us in regards to the ownership of the pucks.

Any help would be appreciated!

@kaigammon you can't simply cancel and sign up as a new customer

you would need to be away from sky for at least 18 months before being classified as a new customer

your pucks are loaned as the change came in February 23 so as you joined in September 23 they would need returning should you cancel

sky stream with work with any isp so long as the speed is good enough

I see - is that 18 month Is that household based? Or would my partner be able to sign up in her name on a new subscription?

Shame about the pucks - looks like the non-return charges are ever so slightly cheaper than ordering new too so is it technically possible?

Best to check the t's & c's. They used to state that your weren't eligible for new customer pricing if you have ever benefited from the introductory discounts in the past (even without being an account holder).
That was a number of years back though so may have changed.

Paying the non return fee doesn't change the ownership of the pucks and they are still liable for return

if your partner as a different surname than they could try signing up

the 18 month limit is for the current address only
