Programme keeps skipping backards

We are trying to watch cricket today. When it gets to the ad about 2 hours in it skips back about 20 minutes before that ad break and we can't get past it. It won't fast forward back to where we were watching before the ad. Happened with the Super Bowl too. It then has a message at the top when you try to ff saying 50 minutes of ads left. Any suggestions? It makes it impossible to watch any sport on catch up rather than live.

Very annoying. This isn't a fix but a workaround, take a look to see if they're offering you any free months of ad skipping on your Sky account (there often is). That should solve the problem of not being able to fast forward.

I'll let someone more experienced speak to the actual problem at hand though.
