@2Bob55 they shouldn't but it sounds like the picture settings on your TV need adjusting especially if you are watching UHD.

Netflix is known to use quite heavy compression on much of its content, especially if you're on one of the standard HD subscription tiers. This can cause some posterisation-type effects, particularly on dark shadowy areas of the picture where there isn't much detail.

The Premium subscription tier is better as it offers higher 4K resolution and less compression, as well as HDR on some content.

Your TV's picture settings can also affect image quality, especially if you have a lot of processing options turned on.
