Sky Main Event

I watch Sky cricket, so why does the device pick the main event , I wanted to watch the BBL final it told me it was ready to stream but all I got was tennis. Cannot see the point of the device using the main event why not the cricket channel?

Maybe it's just me but I don't really understand what you are asking. When you talk of "the device" are you referring to the puck?
When you turn on Sky Stream it should take you to the 'Home' page, you then select the channel you want. Does this not happen to you?

I added the BBL (Australian T20 cricket tournament) to my playlist, some of the games are

on main event but surely the cricket channel is the best to use, I get no choice of which channel they use, Sky decided to change the main event to tennis as Radacanu was playing

i assume. It is the same this week, there are the final four games in the SA20, Tues & Weds are on main event whilst Thurs & Sat are on the cricket channnel, I cannot change it

Your best bet to get this checked by Sky is to send an email to the Sky Viewer relations team to report it;

@Roger74 Thank you I now understand your point. However Sky Main Event as far as I can see doesn't exclusively play any sport it just chooses the main event from other sports channels already showing it. So in your case as far as I can see the SA20 is shown on those days you mention on Sky Cricket, Main Event just picks certain times when it will play the SA20.

If when adding to your playlist you add Sky Cricket it should pick up all the SA20's whereas Main Event will only show it at certain times. I am actually in Spain at the moment on holiday so cannot test this out but am fairly certain that is the case.

Unfortunately this has always the case and there does seem to be a bug that has always existed with sport being broadcast on 2 Sky Sports channels simultaneously, where Sky's recording facility causes Sky Sports Main Event to take precedent over the specific Sky Sports channel for that sport. It happened numerous time for F1 fans, where the cloud recording has been taken from Sky Sports Main Event rather than Sky Sports F1 and delays in the race etc has caused the recording to miss the end of the race when Sky Sports Main Event has switched over to another Sport.

Usually Sky do eventually fix the link the playlist when they uploaded the on-demand version of the sporting event.
