Hello,

The TV is a Samsung, and the model is UE58AU7100KXXU.

Checking the IR transmitter through my phone camera, you can see the command is sent 3 times. The IR command to turn the TV off is also sent a number of times (but obviously this has no negative effect).

I presume this is by design, but unusual in that not everyone has the same problem. Currently looking to see if there's any settings on the TV which will act to delay the OR receiver after a command is received.

Hi all,

It's the first day of setting up my new Sky Stream, and I've set up the remote to change the volume. Unfortunately, it appears to only be able to change the volume by 3 points at a time, which is somewhat irritating. The TV brand is Samsung, and the Samsung remote changes the volume by a single point.

I have tried resetting the remote and pairing it again, as well as going through all pairing settings to check whether others would properly change the volume by a single point - to no avail.

Is anyone able to provide some insight (i.e. is this normal), or otherwise offer a possible solution?

Many thanks,

Tyla

All I can think of is that when you pair the remote, the first one you select that shows a volume hit ( but wrong as you mention) may not be an exact pair.

It might be be worth try another repair, ignoring the first ( you will see the volume jump) so say no and select the next one on offer and seeing if the next selected one solves your issue.

Often, with TVs it can take many selection attempts to do that, not just a few.

Also, what is the exact make/ model of your TV.

Others, who have that TV may be able to help?

On my remote or screen there is no indication of how many "points" the remote puts the sound up by. I just press the up or down button and hold it down and it increases or decreases until I reach the volume I want. I can also press it one at a time to adjust the volume more accurately.

Thank you for all your responses - apologies, I had issues with my SkyID accounts (like many, I believe), and have lost my original Sky Community account.

All settings on the pairing have the same issue, and I've figured out why - the IR command is being sent by the remote 3 times. I've tried another Sky Stream remote and it does the same. I presume this is to ensure the command is reached by the TV, but unfortunately it has the effect of increasing my TV volume by 3. I figured this out by pressing the volume button and then covering the IR transmitter. When I do this, the volume increases by one. When I don't do this, the volume increases by 1 initially, and after a millisecond pause, increases by a further 2. I presume this isn't a setting that can be adjusted, as it can be on Xbox and with some independent universal remotes?

Thank you!

Easy solution found! As the Remote sends the command 3 times, I've found that you can introduce a delay, to prevent the TV's IR receiver from registering multiple button presses. A 0.5s delay fixes the issue for me entirely. Doesn't fix the underlying issue, but certainly the symptom.

Thanks for your time!
