Sky Steam in the US - `xumo` https://www.xfinity.com/learn/xumostreambox
Look famiilar... 🙂 ahhh now I know why it don't look like Sky Q, that was made in UK before Comcast takeover, Sky Steam was not, its a US product so when is Sky becoming Comcast then like Amstrad beacme part of Sky and Love Film became Amazon Prime Video.... 🙂 only time, while the Sky name make Comcast money it will keep it, Sky are not independent no more, Shame Rupert Mordoc had to sell it, he wanted FOX to buy it but they were out bid by Comcast, it was on the news(I like him and Alan Sugar), he was falsed to sell it anyway, it was getting to big, a Monopoly, he didn't want to sell Sky, anyway... 🙂

Looking at the Xumo Streaming box Manual... https://nuance.xumo.com/support/manual in Startup and Standby it has the option thats missing from the Sky Strean box...
`Auto standby: Set how long it takes for your box to turn off after no activity.`
This contols the box standby and should be on the SKY Steam Box Settings Menu, it missing WHY, it not missing on Comcast Xumo Streaming Box...?
There GUI is identical to each other so should have the same settings, does Sky not want you to use it as your main TV and use Freeview mainly or is it been removed by accent, if the box keep going on standby customers will get sick of it and eventually cancel it when there are out of contract and just use Freeview in the end.
`Default to live TV` is a good idea too... 🙂

Australia's version of the Stream puck, the Hubbl Hub, has a more generous time limit before going into standby:

About Energy Saving mode
If there's been no activity on the Hubbl remote for 3 hours and 55 minutes, the Hubbl device will enter energy-saving mode and go into standby. You'll see a message appear on screen before the device enters energy-saving mode.

To avoid this, just pick up the Hubbl remote.

In line with Australian Energy Saving guidelines, it is not possible to disable energy-saving settings on Hubbl.

Mine only gives the prompt after a couple of hours or so, not every hour...

For instance, during an F1 event I'll have to give it a shake once during the whole broadcast

Its a royal pain in the backside. I watch CNBC all day while I work and do my shares. Ive ended up switching Sky off and watching Bloomberg on youtube direct. Its the most pathetic attempt to save energy Ive seen in my life. Why make it so fast? How about 12 hours? 12 hours would seem more reasonable as people up and down the country leave the TV on all day!

There's a war raging. and places like China, India and South America have so many more billions of people with so much less care for this sort of thing.

If you think I'm a naysayer let me tell you now how lucky I am to be alive. I was told for most of my childhood that the global protector of humanity - namely the Ozone- was being WIPED OUT by my spraying deodorant and when it had gone - we'd all be dead. There. I've said my piece. Sky. Please disable that ridonkulous feature.

FOCKER OUT.
