Does Main Event UHD no longer show UHD in the logo in the top-right corner?

Both 401 and 901 just show 'Sky Sports Main Event Live' in the top right corner for me.

On the Darts at least it's pretty hard to tell the difference

BTW I have the Default Streaming Format set to UHD

Yes checking channel 401 the darts is on and had UHD on the logo.

Try powering off your kit for a few minutes at the mains and see if that restores the UHD channel to 401.

It seemed to sort itself during one of the ad breaks, screen flickered grey for a second and when the Darts came back on the UHD logo was back.

I had my box powered off for a week while I was out of town so I guess that was the cause?
