When I try to increase volume using sky remote it brings up search box to search for movies etc any way of changing this so volume works again

Try a reboot, if that doesn't work try resetting and re-pairing the remote.

Press 4 and 6 together for three seconds

Press 1 and 3 together for three seconds

If this doesn't resolve the issue you will need to speak to Sky for a replacement remote.

Hi @Elainemc152. You can reboot/restart your puck by going into Settings > System Management > Resets & Updates > Restart device. It takes about 3 minutes to completely reboot. You will have a blank screen for a couple of minutes before the Sky logo appears so don’t worry when it appears as though nothing is happening.

Did this get resolved? My tv is doing this now, really annoying as we've had the remote replaced once already

If a reboot doesn't solve this, you might need to request a replacement remote and also check it inside to make sure the battery hasn't leaked. Sometimes the battery acid can leak over the remote's board and it makes buttons do weird things.

You can order a replacement remote by speaking to Sky or you can buy one from Amazon if you need it quickly.

You can also try the "wringing the remote" trick which strangely enough does work sometimes! Hold the remote at both ends and give it a little twist like you're trying to wringe water from a flannel. No idea why this works, but sometimes it does.
