Is SKY Streaming suitable for a holiday let property?

I am looking into getting Sky Streaming for a property that I rent out through a holiday letting company. My questions are:

Would holiday guests be able to access my Sky account and details or can this be locked?

Is the interface easy to navigate?

Do you have to log in to the apps e.g. Netfix, every time you want to watch something

Would guests be able to purchase films etc e.g. on Sky Box Office, without my permission?

Hi @JMR63

Sky stream is associated to you and your address. It's not really designed for logging in and out of the apps and if someone logs in and doesn't log out someone else could use those details.

You can pin protect purchases etc, but pin also needed to watch some content before watershed etc.

Also not sure the use case would be permitted by the t&C's.

I use Roku as they have a guest mode that you can set expiry dates on etc. this allows users to use their own credentials and access free content. See: https://support.roku.com/article/360015612834

I may be wrong but I believe this may be against the terms and conditions of the Sky Stream contract.

Sky Stream is intended to be used in a single household by the bill-payer and their immediate family. You could not, for example, have Sky Stream registered at your own home address with a Whole Home subscription and take a puck to your holiday let property for paying guests to use.

You might be able to set up a completely separate Sky Stream account at the holiday property, but whilst you can pin-protect certain aspects of the Entertainment OS, I would be very wary of letting strangers use it.

They would have some access which cannot be blocked

Apps retain the account login

Unless PIN protected, yes, but without a PIN users cannot access some regular channel content

Realistically Stream (or any other Sky subscription product) isn't intended for that scenario and so really isn't ideal.

I'd also note that the Stream contract says you must

Keep the loaned equipment in your home and under your control (for example, you

may not sell or lend it to anyone or use it as security for a loan)

If you contact Sky Business , they will be able to tell you what they can offer. They cover serviced accommodation which may include holiday lets. @JMR63
