@jack90210 Was your introductory offer on a fixed 18 month commitment or are/were you on the 31 day rolling contract?

if you were on the latter and had Sky Sports or Sky Cinema, cancelling one of the latter, waiting 31 days and seeing what offers are in MySky in return for a 24 month commitment.

Our offer was as follows:

Jan 2023-August 2024: introductory offer price £49 per month for Sky Ent & Netflix, whole home & UHD/Atmos on 31 day rolling contract.

Aug 2024: introductory pricing end, monthly price now £60 per month.

Oct 2024: price due to go up to £65 in November. Sky Cinema cancelled via MySky

Nov 2024: Sky Cinema available to renew again via MySky. 24 month option sets entire package to £53 per month. Granted there will be in-contract price rises each March, but we did save a little and we 're almost back to our introductory pricing (which is fine for the viewing we get out of our subscription)

My 18 month introductory contract is ending in December and I've called to try and renew- my current bill is £87 and they want to put it up to £96 as the best offer they can do.

What's stopping me cancelling Stream and reordering at the £75 price the same package costs for a new customer? Or, is it worth waiting longer and seeing if Sky can offer a better deal?

Thanks!

Thank you, that's what I wasn't sure about. The guy on the phone said that you could do that but I wasn't sure if Sky would reject the order ect

Hi,

Its an 18 month contract with a discount that is due to end next month. I assume it would work the same by cancelling one of those and recontracting through MySky?

@jack90210 Cancelling one(Sports or Cinema), waiting 31 days and seeing what MySky offers you would work - you may wind up being offered the same price via the app as you were on the phone though. In my case the better price was going from a 31 day rolling contract tariff to a 24 month contract.

You lose nothing by trying: the cancelled service will run until the 31 day cancellation period ends, and if you are minded to keep the service, it arguably puts you in a better position to negotiate on the phone if the app route doesn't pay off as hoped.
