Remote turns tv on but not off

Hi, I recently changed to sky stream. The sky stream remote will control my volume on my Sony Bravia tv. It will turn it on but will not turn it off. When I hold the button down for 5 seconds a message comes on the screen which reads 'cancel/restart' but the tv will not switch off. This is really frustrating as I know it should turn off and I don't want to be juggling multiply remotes. I would appreciate some help. Thanks.

Thanks for you're help. I opted for the restart option which came up. This restarted my tv, it must have done something because now I am able to turn the tv on and off using my sky stream remote.

I also have Stream and a Sony Bravia

I've discovered to turn the TV off with the Puck, you need to hold the power button down for about 2 seconds only.

if you hold down any longer the TV restart prompt appears.
