I'm new to sky can't have a dish as trees so is it worth a puck try. So many negative comments I'm so not sure

Some people love it and claim to have a perfect Sky Stream experience. Other people have endless issues and hate it.

The only way to find out if it'll work for you is to try it.

Sky programmes are also available via the NOW app on other streaming devices (along with most other channels' content) if you find that Sky Stream doesn't work for you.

Some people love it and claim to have a perfect Sky Stream experience. Other people have endless issues and hate it.

And the vast majority of users (who don't know this forum exists) are probably somewhere in-between....

As is the nature of all forums, they attract negative opinion, especially from those who no longer have a Puck. Personally, I've found the picture quality to be excellent, and while there were lots of irritating issues when it was first launched, they've largely been fixed. Much depends on how you want to consume TV, so a bit of prior research is well worth while. I'd suggest giving it a try.

We moved from Sky Q to Stream as the tree outside our garden has grown so tall we (and our neighbours) can't get a signal once it starts to leaf.
Our experience was a simple transition, spoke to Sky, the puck arrived the next day. Twas easy to set up and the picture quality is very good.
I don't mind the user interface, my wife hates it. The puck is Wi-Fi 6 compatible so if you have Wi-Fi 6 compatible router you'll probably be able to utilise the speed that brings. We have an Asus XT9 mesh system in the house and via Wi-Fi it is very quick. Stating that, I'm currently using it via Ethernet and it tops around 80 mbps.
I'm experiencing audio drops with the puck, (live/on-demand content & Netflix),

the odd pixilation (only seen it on Sky Arts & Sky History).
I get around the sound issues by using an Apple TV device, I use for all other streaming with the exception of iPlayer as it doesn't support UHD/HDR.
Overall, I havent had the BEEF that you may see other posters have had and I'm not looking to change from it anytime soon - but will I keep it come renewal time? I'm not sure right now.

We have Sky Glass and 2 pucks, had them for a good while now. I personally have not experienced any issues with the pucks at all - totally satisfied with the service provided from them. I have experienced some issues with the main SkyGlass TV; but the pucks have been excellent.

If you have a good local network supplying the pucks and limit the interference with a few tweaks and positioning, much like for some customers on Sky Q, it will be fine.

I am just coming up to eight months of Sky Stream now, with two reliable pucks.
Apart form the day outage that affected most Sky Stream/Glass custom around the 19th and 20th last month (all back and running on both pucks with a short time after the Sky set out reset), all has been fine for me.
Would definetly not want to move back to Sky Q, that was sure showing its age.
A very happy Sky Stream customer.

The channels and picture quality on Stream are good (but you might have to sort out the sound sync problem).

But the user interface is awful, designed to keep pushing new films and programmes at you. Your family might find it as frustrating as ours have.

Well, if you haven't been scared off by the responses, it should be pretty clear that Sky Stream is by no means a perfect streaming service but it can, and does, work perfectly well for some/many customers.

I reiterate, that due to the huge number of variables - broadband speed, network stability, viewing preferences, speed of UI expected, etc, the only way to find out if it'll be good for you is to try it.

It's very straightforward to reject it and return the puck within the cooling off period, or indeed to order more pucks and fill your home with them if you like it. You can have up to 6 on one account, as long as your broadband speed and coverage is sufficient.
