Sky Sports ME UHD Black Screen with Sound

When I select this channel my TV switches to HLG HDR mode (indicated by a notification in the top right corner of the screen) I get a black screen with sound. My TV supports HDR 10-bit, Dolby Vision...etc

Has viewing in uhd worked before on your Sky Stream puck?

Or is this your first time trying.

Use voice and say uhd and try playing an on demand programme like any episode of GoT, that shows HDR, to see if that works.

Also try going to channels 903, 904 and 906..

The first two are the channels that Sky use for its uhd/ hdr content that you choose from the on screen prompt, mainly used for football.

The third is what Eurosport uses for their 4k content.

The channels do not always show content, but do show a repeating Prom in uhd/hdr when not broadcasting.

If you have it in your subscription, choose the Sky Sports F1 channel, that is a dedicated uhd/hdr channel like Sky Sports Main Event UHD

I've had Sky Stream for 4 days. All those channels give me the black screen as does GoT on-demand. I get maybe one frame where I can see the picture. My bedroom puck, also on an LGTV does not have this issue.

Are you using the HDMI cable which came with the puck? Is the HDMI port you are using on your TV enabled for HDR?

To me this sounds like an issue with the settings on your TV. Check the TV manufacturer help pages to make sure that the tv is actually compatible with the latest version of HLG. If it is, check to make sure that the software on the tv is fully up to date.

Also, make sure that the HDMI connection your using supports at least HDMI 2.0. if it doesn't, find out which HDMI port does as not all tvs support HDMI 2.0 on all ports

This was apparently the problem. Even though I was using the same HDMI port I used for Sky Q and was able to watch UHD content on Sky Q it seems only ports 3 and 4 are able to support UHD on Sky Stream. Very odd.

@CIEWM if the internet is correct, Sky Q uses HDMI 1.4 and Stream uses HDMI 2.0. Newer TV's are adopting 2.0 > 2.1 but not all manufacturers include it on all ports.

Not sure, it's an LG Nanocell. About 2 years old.
