Have you powered it off at the wall for a minute then tried again?

Is there a white light on the front of the puck? It could be the remote is duff - they fail quite often.

I have powered it off and in a number of times and there is no light on the puck the remote is working as it can still set the volume

How long did you unplug it for? Did you try unplugging it for about 10 minutes?

It's probably a duff one. Best ring Sky & get a replacement.
