Does the puck have a ethernet port and if so doed this work better than a hdmi cable.

The Ethernet port is a 100mbps port so and can be better than poor or low speeds over wifi.

@Graham.+K

As @GD1 indicates, those do very different jobs, and without HDMI a Stream puck is entirely pointless (except perhaps as a paperweight)

Ethernet may well be preferable to WiFi in getting data to a puck though, in which case puck WiFi should be switched off.

Linking a puck to a smart television using ethernet cable is physically possible (the ends plug in) but will do nothing at all.

If you are thinking of 'HDMI over ethernet', that's a valid but very different technology requiring external powered adaptors and initial output / final input is still over the HDMI ports.
