SKY PUCK REMOTE PROBLEMS

My Sky Puck remote has gone wild and whenever I need to press a number, i.e. when my PIN number is required, it does very strange things. I have a spare remote and my idea was just unpairing the old remote and pairing the new one. The problem is that you need to press 7 & 9 to unpair your remote and in my case, when I press these two keys the remote interprets that it has to turn off the puck instead of unpairing. I'd like to know if there is any other possible way of force-unpairing the remote apart from pressing 7 & 9. I wouldn't like to reset the puck to the factory settings because I´d lose lots of information about my viewing preferences. Thanks.

@Josh_R You mention that you have another remote. If you pair this one it will automatically unpair your faulty remote.

I have same problem press 7 and 9 turns puck off if pressed 1 and 3 says remote set up but can't get of the screen,so annoying.
