I don't believe the aerial socket is enabled for UK puck versions.

Do you have Sky Stream or Sky Glass? You have posted this in the Sky Stream section of the forum and in the UK that doesn't support plugging in an ariel and receiving the DTT channels through them.

Oh why is there an Ariel socket?

It offered me a channel scan before I linked it up to my Sky sub, it's gone now though.

Because the stream puck is standard Comcast hardware that they use globally so in a small number of regions the ariel socket is supported.

@oxfordmark85 the aerial socket is present on the pucks because it is a requirement in some other markets like Italy the UK firmware disables its functionality. On the Glass TV it is also there for use if people stop buying the Sky package so the TV has some limited functionality. It does not work while the TV is connected to a Sky account.

Some territories mandate the presence of a DTTV tuner so that the hardware is capable of receiving state-run terrestrial broadcast television as well as proprietary streaming or satellite content.

In Italy Sky had to produce a separate version of their Q television boxes, which is very expensive to do for a limited market: having the Stream puck be universal is a reasonable business decision but does tend to leave UK users rather confused.
