Sky stream remote

Ive just received my sky stream stuff and I pulled the paper in the remote as said and it got torn. I cant see a way to open the remote which I tried to. The contact is not there in the remote so it wint work. How do I take out the paper inside the remote. The paper was not strong enough.

The first few times the back cover can be very stiff and hard to remove but persevere and you can work it off. I found putting it down on a cushion face down gave extra grip enough to get the back off.
